Janet Collins is a leader and advocate for career readiness, currently serving as a Director of Career Initiatives at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. She excels in forging connections between students, faculty, and employers, and is passionate about equipping students with lifelong career skills. Janet’s expertise extends to teaching students how to build their social capital and cultivate intentional relationships, alongside developing other lifelong professional competencies.

With over 27 years of rich experience in the educational sector, Janet has made significant contributions as a District Administrator, Principal, Counselor, and Teacher within Arkansas Public Schools. Her diverse experience includes roles as an Industry Recruiter / Consultant, Director of a community Therapeutic Day Treatment Center, and a University Career Coach.

In December 2024, Janet presented at the Southern Association of Colleges and Employers (SoACE) Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida, delivering insights on “Data-Driven Career Success: Measuring Readiness and Scaling Social Capital Curriculum”
Janet’s educational journey is marked by a Post Graduate certification in District Leadership from Harding University, a Master of Science in Counselor Education from Arkansas State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Arkansas. Her academic and professional paths reflect a deep commitment to fostering educational excellence and leadership.

Janet enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her interests include experiencing live music, cheering on the Razorbacks, embracing the beauty of nature through outdoor activities, enjoying animals, and helping and connecting people.
